A Shadwell homebred, foaled and raised at Yarraman, the Lindsay Park trained Queyaady broke his maiden when winning at Sandown last month and stepped it up a notch at Sandown on Saturday.

He led all the way for Blaike McDougall to win the open juvenile event over 1000m by a length and three-quarters clocking a tick over 57 seconds and has now won two of four starts earning over $115,000 in prizemoney.

Qeyaady is the third winner from three foals to race from Group III winning Redoute’s Choice mare Shaaheq, who was also second in the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes.

Yarraman Park sold the yearling colt by Written Tycoon from Shaaheq at Inglis Easter for $200,000 to Rosemont Victorian Alliance / Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA) / David Redvers Bloodstock.

Currently being prepared for sale by Yarraman Park, Shaaheq will be offered in the Shadwell Stud Unreserved Dispersal at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale as Lot 818 and is in foal to Written Tycoon.
