Ones to Watch – Cressfield

Tara Madgwick - Thursday April 29

A pair of lightly raced Cressfield bred and sold blue-blood three year-olds both broke the ice on Thursday at Wyong and Wangaratta.

Not a Single Doubt gelding Do This All Day started his racing career with John O’Shea, but was sent to the paddock after three lack lustre barrier trials last year.

Given to Claire Cunningham to train by owner Mr Cheng, she has prepared him like a stayer, as was his mother Jeu de Cartes, and he duly got the cash today winning over 2100m at his fourth start.

Do This All Day as a yearling

A $540,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Keyhinge from the Cressfield draft, Do This All Day is a half-brother to stakes-placed Merited and is the fourth winner from four to race out of Group II winning stayer Jeu de Cartes, a half-sister by Stravinsky (USA) to Group I ATC Australian Derby winner Nom du Jeu from Group I BRC Brisbane Cup winner Prized Gem.

Cressfield sold a Merchant Navy yearling colt at Inglis Easter this year for $75,000 to Hawkes Racing. Jeu de Cartes has a weanling colt by The Autumn Sun and is back in foal to him again.

Opening her account at Wangaratta with a dominant all the way four length victory in the 1400m maiden was the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained Redoute’s Choice filly Sacred Snow.

Sacred Snow was a short priced favourite and delivered the goods in exciting fashion.

She was a $400,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Raffles Racing / Ciaron Maher from the Cressfield draft and is the first winner for royally bred Red Ransom (USA) mare Adelie, a winning sibling  to Group I winner Snowland, Group II winner Portillo (dam of Group II winner Ghisoni) and stakes-winner and sire Snippetson.

Sacred Snow as a yearling
Adelie had no yearling for the sales this year but does have a Russian Revolution weanling cotl and went to Deep Field last year.
