Second Winner for Caravaggio

Australian yearling buyers have been impressed this year with the first and only Australian crop by dual Group I winning sprinter Caravaggio (USA), who sired his second winner in Ireland overnight and interestingly Elliptic is from a daughter of Fastnet Rock.

Trained by Donnacha O’Brien and ridden by Gavin Ryan, Ellipticwas having her first start in a five furlong maiden at Tipperary and ran out an easy length and a half winner.



“Elliptic looks to be exciting. She was going like a nice, fast filly and when she got a bit of light today she took off. You would think she could be a Queen Mary or Albany filly, we'll see if we can get a run into her before then,” said Donnacha O'Brien.

A homebred for Annemarie O’Brien, Elliptic is the first winner for unraced Aqua de Vida, a half--sister by Fastnet Rock to Group III winner Hebridean.

Caravaggio shuttled to Coolmore Australia for one season.

A dashing grey son od Scat Daddy, Caravaggio has had 47 yearlings sell at majors sales in Australasia this year at a an average $88,159.
