Written Tycoon – The Arrowfield Legacy

Tara Madgwick - Monday April 19

Breeders that go to Written Tycoon this spring at his new home at Yulong Stud may reap the rewards for years to come from his one year stint at Arrowfield Stud in the Hunter Valley.

Priced at $77,000 last year, Written Tycoon covered 199 mares from some of the best breeders in the country, which has been the case for a number of seasons now with owners of elite mares happy to send them to Victoria, but what is different is the Arrowfield influence.

Arrowfield is undoubtedly one of the most successful breeding operations in the country with a large band of broodmares backed by a top class stallion roster consistently producing results at the highest level.

That success has been founded on the back of Danehill and his sire sons, notably Redoute’s Choice, so the introduction of new blood is vital to long term success with Hussonet (USA) playing an important role in years past and Dundeel, their current proven G1 outcross sire.

Completely free of Danehill blood, Written Tycoon arrived at Arrowfield very much the man for the moment and covered over 30 of their mares and those resulting foals may well hold the seeds of much success in the future.

Below is the record of success for Written Tycoon with increasing opportunity in recent years set to enhance his already impressive record.
