Sixth Winner for Star Turn

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 16

Capitalist might be leading the way on the Australian first season sires list with eight Aussie winners on the board, but there have been a raft of sires on five winners apiece until Friday when Star Turn added a sixth to the tally.

The Damien Lane trained Impact Star saluted at Port Macquarie, winning by nearly two lengths at his third start with another Star Turn in Imatruestar running home well for third.

A $26,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer from the Manx Park draft, Impact Star is a half-brother to Group III placed Stop Making Sense and is the fifth winner from good producer Etoile Fille, a half0sister to the dams of Group III winner Strike the Stars and Another Dollar.

Impact Star is the sixth first crop winner for Vinery Stud’s Star Turn, whose best off spring are stakes-placed Pegasi and Astrologer, who won a recent trial and looks primed for a good campaign.
