Bright Future for Sebring 2YO

Tara Madgwick - Sunday April 11

A $35,000 juvenile event at Ballarat on Sunday was won in dominant style by progressive Sebring colt Three Kings.

Fifth and second at his only two previous starts, the Tony and Calvin McEvoy trained colt raced on the pace and powered clear to win by more than two lengths.

“We think he could be up to stakes level and we hope he can continue to improve for his owners,” said co-trainer Calvin McEvoy, who indicated if he pulls up well the VRC ANZAC Day Stakes may be on the agenda.

Three Kings was passed in by Widden Stud at Magic Millions shy of his $220,000 reserve and runs for a syndicate that includes Widden Stud and partners.

Three Kings as a yearling.

Three Kings is a full brother to Group III winner Thurlow and is the sixth winner from six to raced from stakes-winner Princess Emmy.

Princess Emmy was sold in 2019 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $130,000 to Hollymount Stud and her yearling filly by Sebring for her new owners sold at Magic Millions this year for Kingstar Farm for $270,000 to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock.
