Debut South African Winner for So You Think

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 7

Australian bred three year-old So You Think filly Safe to Assume, the most expensive yearling by her sire at Inglis Easter 2019, made a winning debut at Kenilworth in South Africa on Wednesday.

Trained by Andre Nel for Mrs Sabine Plattner, Safe to Assume was favourite for the 1000m maiden and won by three-quarters of a length.

A $500,000 Inglis Easter purchase for James Bester Bloodstock from the Lime Country Thoroughbreds draft, Safe to Assume was the most expensive yearling by her sire sold at that sale and is his second overall most expensive yearling FILLY ever sold.

SAfe to Assume was a $500,000 Inglis Easter purchase for James Bester Bloodstock.

Bred by the late Dato Tan Chin Nam, she is a half-sister to Group II winner Miss Gunpowder and is the third winner from now retired Forever Rafter (USA), a half-sister to Group I winner Absolute Glam.
