200th Stakes-Winner for Dubawi

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday April 6

Darley’s champion sire Dubawi sired his 200th stakes-winner overnight and he did it with a filly that made 1,625,000 euros at Arqana in 2019 to top the sale when bought by Godolphin.

Philomene made it two wins in as many starts when taking out the Group III Prix Penelope at Saint Cloud over 1m2 ½ f by two and a half lengths over Wootton Bassett filly Incarville.

Trained by Andre Fabre, Philomene runs for Godolphin and her breeders Ecurie Des Monceaux and Skymarc Farm, who each retain a 25 per cent share of the blue blooded filly.

Philomene as a yearling that topped 2019 Arqana Deauville August.

Philomene is a half-sister to Group I winners Magic Wand and Chiquita being the seventh winner from stakes-winner Prudenzia, a half-sister to Group III winner Pacifique and exciting stakes-winner Camelot stayer English King, who will race here in Australia later this year.

Philoemene is the 200th stakes-winner for Dubawi, who becomes the first British sire to achieve the milestone.
