Favourite Foal an Inglis Easter Star for Willow Park

Tara Madgwick - Monday March 29

Wet weather in the Hunter Valley last week meant the Inglis Easter inspection touring party missed out on their scheduled stop at Willow Park Stud, which was a shame as Breednet owner Craig Tompson had been keen to catch up with a yearling that has already made an impression on the Breednet audience as the Favourite Foal of 2019.

Willow Park Stud are always great supporters of the Breednet Foal Gallery with their valued staff member Lisa Richards an avid photographer that comes up with stunning foal pictures every year.

Her winning entry in 2019 was this Pierro colt from well bred Fastnet Rock mare Aonair, who comes from the family of Alinghi.

Fast forward to now and he’s grown into an eye-catching colt that has pleased everyone at Willow Park through his sales prep and he will be offered at Inglis Easter as Lot 199.

.

“The cheeky boy whose foal photo was enormously popular has grown into a beautiful yearling,” said Willow Park Stud Manager Glenn Burrows.

“He’s not your typical Pierro in that he is more mature and has terrific hip strength, whilst being of just average size.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s going to make his mark on the track as an early/mid 2yo.

“When he walks he has the most beautiful, fluent, economical action and he is super tough! He’s a cracking first foal of a well bred mare who although was lightly raced she defeated the subsequent SW Cuba when winning at Warwick Farm.”
