Group One Dams – New Additions

Tara Madgwick - Sunday March 28

A smorgasbord of Group I racing at Rosehill last Saturday led us to update our table of Group I producing dams this season highlighting what stallions they went to last spring and what foals they have in the pipeline.

Since we last looked at this list Savabeel has added two new Group I winners to his tally in New Zealand Oaks winner Amarelinha and Rosehill Guineas winner Mo’Unga, both of them bred from mares by O’Reilly.

Champion sire O'Reilly sired the dams of two new Group I winners, click to read about him as a broodmare sire.

Their respective dams both had foals by Savabeel in 2020 and Amarelinha’s dam is back in foal to him while Mo’unga’s dam was covered by Caulfield Guineas winner Super Seth.

The dam of Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside is proving a tricky breeder and seems to only have  a foal every second year. She missed to both Extreme Choice and Cosmic force last year, but does have a filly foal by Russian Revolution.

Bred by Kingstar Farm, the half-sister by Russian Revolution to Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside.

The list below features all Australian and New Zealand Group I winners this season whose dams are believed to be alive, at stud in Australasia and had stud returns lodged last year.
