Another Inglis Easter Sale-Topper?

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 24

Breednet owner Craig Tompson is in the Hunter Valley for another day of inspections with Team Inglis and an early visit on Wednesday was to Sledmere Stud, who had the honour of selling last year’s Inglis Easter sale-topper.

Their Snitzel colt from Group I ATC Flight Stakes winner First Seal proved a show-stopper in 2020, albeit an online show-stopper, when snapped up by Tom Magnier for $1.8million. He has been named Naval Seal, but is yet to trial or race.

$1.8million Snitzel colt from First Seal that topped 2020 Inglis Easter.

The second foal from First Seal is another very attractive colt, this one by I Am Invincible and catalogued as Lot 307 by Sledmere Stud.

Rated the Champion Female Sprinter in Australia for 2015-2016, the China Horse Club owned First Seal was an outstanding racemare who defeated Winx in both the Group I ATC Flight Stakes and Group II ATC Tea Rose Stakes, her talent matched by her pedigree as she is a half-sister to Group II winner Book of Kells from dual Group I winner Episode.

China Horse Club have given the champion daughter of Fastnet Rock every chance to succeed at stud and after missing in 2019, she is now in foal to Zoustar.
