Golden Slipper Field and Barrier Draw

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday March 16

The field is decided for the 2021 Group I ATC Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill this Saturday with first season sires again poised to play a big hand accounting for seven of the 16 runners this year.

Golden Slipper winner and Champion 2YOP Capitalist has three runners in Profiteer, Kalashnikov and Captivant, while Shalaa (IRE), Flying Artie, Extreme Choice and Frosted (USA) have one runner each.

The Magic Millions 2YO Classic (Shaquero) and Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes (Artorius) were both won by the progeny of first season sires and the trend may well continue.

Stay Inside is a $4 favourite for the Golden Slipper after the barrier draw.

After the barrier draw, Stay Inside (Extreme Choice) was tightened into $4 outright favoritism while Profiteer (Captialist) remained at $4.50.
