Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Thursday March 4

There were six heats for two year-olds at Rosehill on Thursday morning featuring winners for first season sires Capitalist and Tivaci with the fastest heat taken out by a well bred filly by Not a Single Doubt.

Matthew Smith has taken his time with unraced Not a Single Doubt filly All Girls, who was having her third barrier trial and second this preparation.

She raced forward for Nash Rawiller to share the lead off the fence and surged to the line to win what looked a strong heat by three-quarters of a length over $1million Exceed and Excel colt Ovoid with blue-blood Snitzel filly Yearning in third place at her first trial.

Carrying the Arrowfield colours, Yearning is the first foal of Group I ATC Australian Oaks winner Rising Romance, whose second foal, a colt by Snitzel, will be offered by Arrowfield at Inglis Easter as Lot 45.

All Girls got the job done nicely and looks more than ready for a race day assignment.

All Girls was a $250,000 Magic Millions purchase.

A $250,000 Magic Millions purchase for  Mystery Downs/John Foote Bloodstock from the Arrowfield draft, All Girls has a neat mix of speed and stamina in her pedigree being from Deep Impact mare Orgeuil (Jpn), a half-sister to Japanese Group II winning stayer Toho Alan from the family of Group I winner and Group I sire Artie Schiller.

Other heat winners were: Tristate (Headwater), Never Been Kissed (Tivaci), Surreel (Not a Single Doubt), Soprano (Sebring) and Russian Standard (Capitalist), who was back at the trials after failing as favourite on debut at Gosford on February 24.
