$600,000 for Zoustar Filly from Humma Mumma

Tara Madgwick - Sunday February 28

Outstanding broodmare Humma Mumma had two of her progeny in the placings at Flemington on Saturday with Tycoon Humma winning the Listed race for 2YO’s and Humma Humma finishing third in the Listed VRC Bob Hoysted Handicap, so it was no surprise to anyone when her Zoustar filly sold for $600,000 at Inglis Premier on Sunday.

Consigned by Flinders Park Stud, as were her two famous older sisters, the filly was bought by Redgum Racing, who also bought her stakes-winning sisters at previous Premier sales.

Redgum Racing have bought all five previous yearlings from Humma Mumma that have been sold to date and all have raced, with four winning.

Two year-old Tycoon Humma (Capitalist)has won each of her two starts to date banking over $100,000 in prizemoney, while multiple stakes-winner Humma Humma (Denman) has won over $600,000, so you can see why their trainer John McCardle and his Redgum Racing team keep going back to the well!

Humma Mumma had no foal last year, so will have no yearling for the 2022 sales, but she is in foal to Darley young gun Blue Point (IRE)
