First Winner for G1 Winner Fenway

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday February 24

Blue-blooded Group I ATC Vinery Stud Stakes winner Fenway produced her first winner at Gosford on Wednesday and has a yearling entered for the upcoming Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

The Chris Waller trained Redoute’s Choice colt Zudin has been working towards a win in recent runs and got the job done when scoring a neck victory over his stablemate Apollate in the 1600m maiden, both horses carrying the Hermitage Thoroughbreds colours.

Zudin is not in the same league as their former champion Redoute’s Choice colt The Autumn Sun, but he can certainly win more races.

Zudin as a yearling.
A $600,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Arrowfield draft, Zudin was bred by Arrowfield in partnership and is the first foal of Fenway, who was a $700,000 Inglis Easter purchase herself.

A half-sister to Group III winner War by High Chaparral (IRE), Fenway was bred by Strawberry Hill Stud and is a grand-daughter of Group I winning blue hen Joie Denise, the dam of Group I winners Tuesday Joy and Sunday Joy, the dam of champion mare More Joyous.

Arrowfield Stud will offer the current yearling from Fenway, a colt by Snitzel, at Inglis Easter as Lot 304.
