Metro Winner for Shamoline Warrior

Media Release - Wednesday September 13

What a timely victory it was by Stone Warrior at Sandown last Wednesday with Carin Park just days before announcing the arrival of the promising gelding's sire Shamoline Warrior.

Shamoline WarriorA member of the Anthony Freedman stable, Stone Warrior was having his first run since May and was double figure odds with his best form coming over a bit longer than the 1400m he was contesting fresh.

But he showed plenty of heart, weaving through the field and chasing hard to the line - recording the third success of a consistent 13 start career that has also seen him in the placings on six occasions.

It was the second metropolitan win for Stone Warrior who had to be ridden against his normal pattern... "he is a horse who generally likes to get to the outside but that was not the place to be today," Anthony Freedman said.

"He did a good job and hopefully he can get to a better level. He looks the best he has every looked so he could be in for a good preparation."

Boasting an interesting pedigree, Stone Warrior is out of a mare by Grosvenor who hails form the same family as Shamoline Warrior's second dam sire Dalmacia.

A Group Three winner who was injured before we got to see the best of him, Shamoline Warrior fared well from limited opportunities in New Zealand - serving small books but already represented by a stakes winner in the shape of My Nikita who is now in the capable hands of Darren Weir.

Shamoline Warrior is a son of the outstanding Shamaradal, multiple Group One winner of the Dewhurst Stakes, the French 2000 Guineas, the French Derby and the St James's Palace Stakes... and a proven high class sire of 107 stakes winners.

Boasting outstanding stats - throughout his career maintaining an impressive winners-to-runners strike rate of over 74% - Shamardal has had 10.5% stakes winners to runners with his progeny amassing in excess of $113 million.

It is that reliability and toughness that Australian breeders seek, making the Shamardal line a highly desirable one to tap into... just look at a horse like Vega Magic, dual Group One (Goodwood Handicap, Memsie Stakes) winner by Shamardal stallion Lope de Vega... 17 starts, 12 wins with more to come!

Shamoline Warrior is the only proven son of Shamaradal available to Victorian breeders so be sure to make the most of the opportunity at a fee of just $3500.
