Inglis Premier Stars from G1 Mill Park Families

Mill Park can lay claim to having produced 18 Group I winners with the latest to add her name to the list being superstar South African sprint queen Run Fox Run, who captured the Group I Kenilworth Cape Flying Championship and is now headed to a stud career in Ireland.

Bred by Mill Park in partnership and sold at Inglis Easter for $420,000, Run Fox Run never missed a place in 11 starts, the daughter of Foxwedge winning eight races and placing three times.

The Inglis Premier draft from Mill Park features one of her close relations in Lot 540, a Shooting to Win colt from Champagne Jane, who is a half-sister by Starcraft to Run Fox Run.

This has been a super successful family for Mill Park for many years producing Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winner Serious Speed as well as stakes-winners Guard of Honour, Reldas and Victory Chant.

The Watson family run Mill Park is a name synonymous with quality and the list of superior runners raised on their vast paddocks is a virtual who’s who of Australian racing and includes Group I superstars such as Booker, Warning, Southern Speed, Happy Trails, Rebel Raider, Captain Sonador and $3.8 million earner and Caulfield Cup hero Fawkner, who has a half-brother in this year’s Inglis Premier draft.

Lot 572 is a Sebring colt from outstanding producer Dane Belltar, who has left seven winners from eight foals to race with Fawkner her star performer as well as $1.1million earning Group II winner Tanby and stakes-placed Viking Star.

Also from the same family is Lot 509, a Merchant Navy colt from Bellspath, an unraced daughter of Dane Belltar by Epsom Derby winning sire New Approach (IRE). The colt is bred on the phenomenally successful Fastnet Rock x Galileo nick.

Another Group I winner on the Mill Park honour roll is Go Indy Go, who won the Group I ATC Champagne Stakes and her half-brother by Triple Crown hero American Pharoah (USA) will be offered as Lot 7.

A strapping bay from terrific producer Elegant Eagle(a sister to the dam of Caulfield Cup winner Southern Speed), he is also a half-brother to four other winners headed by Group III winner Essay Raider and stakes-placed Battle Brewing.

The Champion Australian 3YO of 1997/1998, triple Group I winner Gold Guru was one of the early horses that put Mill Park on the map and his family continues to deliver great success.

Lot 55 is a colt with classic contender written all over him, a half-brother by So You Think to Group III winner Gamblin Guru and Group placed Glam Guru and Gossip Guru from Gold Guru’s half-sister Glory Guru, who has the perfect record of seven foals to race all winners.

Bred in partnership and sold by Mill Park, former classy sprinter Catapulted wasn’t quite a Group I winner, but he did win 12 races and nearly $900,000 with a placing in the Group I SAJC Goodwood Handicap to go with his multiple Group race wins.

Lot 27 is sure to have plenty of his speed being a Spirit of Boom colt from his winning three-quarter sister Fast and Loose, who comes from the family of WA Group I winner Ihtsahymn.
