First Thronum Yearlings on Show at Inglis Premier

The Sun Stud colours were carried to victory by brilliant Group II winning Snitzel sprinter Thronum, whose first yearlings have been impressing buyers in pre-sale inspections ahead of next week’s Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

Sun Stud's Thronum has his first yearlings on offer at Inglis Premier.

A strongly built, short coupled sprinter like his champion sire, Thronum proved his Group I credentials with a fighting half length second to Hellbent in the Group I MVRC William Reid Stakes (1200m).

Thronum covered a good book in his first season at Sun Stud and has some lovely yearlings on offer as listed below.

Second foal of a metro winning sister to Group II winner Diamond Tathagata and half-sister to stakes-winner Ancestry.

Lot 599 Filly Thronum x Evasive (NZ), by One Cool Cat (USA) – Sun Stud


Half-sister to three winners including Lil Piper, who has won again at Morphettville since the catalogue went to print. Dam is a half-sister to Group I winner Zabrasive and daughter of stakes-winner Danasia, from the family of Group I winner Cheeky Choice.

Third foal of a winning half-sister to stakes-placed Larson and Swining Babe, dam of stakes-placed Resistant. Bred on successful Snitzel x Bel Esprit nick that has produced Group III winners Swats That, Immortal Love and Sylvia’s Mother.

Lot 681 Colt Thronum x Probationary, by Northern Meteor – Flinders Park

Half-brother to promising winner Patrolling from a winning Northern Meteor mare from an international Black Type family featuring  multiple US Group I winner Marlin.

Lot 692 Filly Thronum x Role Reversal (GB), by Shamardal – Sun Stud

Third foal of a placed half-sister to Group III winner Signoff from a European Black Type family featuring Champion 3YO Stayer Rule of Law, winner of the Group I St Leger.

Lot 739 Colt Thronum x Vintage Quality, by Elusive Quality (USA) – Two Bays Farm

Half-brother to stakes-placed Lady Loire and another winner from an unraced half-sister to stakes-winner Vintner (dam of stakes-winner Fitou) and to the dam of Group III winner Cellarman and stakes-winner Cellargirl.

Half-brother to Group I placed stakes-winner Dowager Queen, the dam of stakes-placed Queen of Rocks, from stakes-placed Dower.
