Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Thursday February 11

Glamour colts Shaquero and Remarque stepped out in the same trial for two year-olds on the program at Rosehill this morning and there was nothing between them at the finish, their heat one of five on the program for two year-olds.

Already a winner of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and Breeders Plate, Shaquero has the runs on the board while Golden Slipper winner Estijaab’s brother Remarque looked the good in an easy debut win at Rosehill on January 16.

Shaquero scored a head win in this encounter, but race day may be a different story.

Other heat winners were: Tattletale (Spill the Beans), Four Moves Ahead (Snitzel), Sir Crackle (Choisir) and Capitalist gelding Clemenceau, who was the fastest of the 2YO heat winners.

The Team Hawkes trained Clemenceau has trialled twice now for two wins and led all the way to win under a hold, so looks race ready.

Clemenceau as a yearling.
A $260,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Newgate Farm draft he  runs for Alan Bell and is from stakes-placed Capital Commander from the family of Golden Slipper runner-up How Funny and Group II winner Twining.
