Snitzel Blueblood Makes Winning Debut

Mark Smith - Tuesday February 9

A son of a record-priced broodmare and a half-brother to Shooting To Win and Deep Field much was expected of the three-year-old Snitzel colt Rights Of Man when making his career debut over 1112m at Kyneton on Tuesday.

Talented but a lot to learn Rights Of Man (Pat Scala/Racing Photos)

Retained to race by his breeders, Cressfield Thoroughbreds and China Horse Club, the Danny O'Brien-trained chestnut was backed to the exclusion of all others, firming from $4.50 to start at $1.35.

He got the job done despite showing greenness in the straight to defeat With Edge (Canford Cliffs) by one and a quarter lengths with O'Whatapicture (O'Lonro) back in third.

Rights of Man is the sixth foal of the stakes-winning Elusive Quality (USA) mare Listed Here who was sold at the 2016 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $3.4million.

It is a positive result for Cressfield who will consign an I Am Invincible filly out of Listen Here to the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale in April. (lot 392)
