A New Classic Sale Record as James Harron goes to $600,000 for Capitalist Colt

Mark Smith - Sunday February 7

We have a new club-house leader at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale with James Harron Bloodstock shelling out $600,000 for a Capitalist colt consigned by Davai Thoroughbreds. That represents a new high for the sale.

Bred by Twin Palms Stud, the strapping chestnut is the second foal of the winning Encosta de Lago mare Mystical Tale. (lot 182)

A granddaughter of the Golden Slipper heroine Polar Success (Success Express), Mystical Tale was purchased by Andrew Williams Bloodstock/Twin Palms Stud for $90,000 in 2018.

It has proven to be an astute purchase as Astute Bloodstock outlaid $200,000 at last year’s Classic Sale to purchase the No Nay Never colt she was carrying.

Mystical Tale has a Capitalist filly foal and was covered by Dundeel last spring.

In association with Snowden Racing, James Harron purchased the Golden Slipper winner Capitalist as a yearling for $165,000.
