White Robe Lodge is a proven thoroughbred nursery and stood the champion stallions Mellay (GB) and Noble Bijou (GB), whom Mark worked closely with, witnessing first hand the making of a champion stallion in New Zealand.

Mark returned after three years to for fill his own dreams and it was Tamac Stud Farm that would see him invest his time and energy for years to come.

“Tamac was founded in 1964 by my father Geoff Taylor and our first stallion was Rock Roi, who won 1971 Goodwood Cup in Great Britain,” said Mark Taylor.

“Over the next 40 years, a number of stallions stood at Tamac including Piazetta (full brother to Star Way), Mosgiel (by Noble Bijou) and Incognito (by Biscay).

“I took over the running of the farm in in 2014 on the passing of my dad and changed focus from standing stallions to reducing mare numbers and breeding 10 to 12 mares to commercial stallions to produce yearlings and weanlings for major sales such as Magic Millions and Inglis Classic.”
