Highland Reel was not among the Cox Plate first acceptors but Irish master Aidan O'Brien has five runners remaining in the $3 million championship.

O'Brien's quintet includes Group I winner Deauville, who was a last-start third in the Grade I Arlington Million (1-1/4 m) in the US in August, and Johannes Vermeer, who was a Group 1 winner in France as a two-year-old.

Godolphin's overseas operations have two Saeed bin Suroor-trained runners, Prize Money and Best Solution) in the Cox Plate acceptors while Charlie Appleby has Folkswood in line for a start in the Moonee Valey showpiece.

Jane Chapple-Hyam has kept Kaspersky in the Cox Plate and booked Michelle Payne for the ride some time ago.
