Enthaar Dazzles in G3 Chairman’s Stakes

Tara Madgwick - Saturday January 30

A homebred for Emirates Park, Written Tycoon filly Enthaar could not have been more impressive when resuming from a spell to score a facile win in the Group III MRC Chairman’s Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

Prepared by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, the filly was brilliant in winning the Group III ATC Gimcrack Stakes in Sydney on debut last spring and picked up right where she left off.

Enthaar jumped fast from gate one for Mark Zahra and dashed straight to the lead where she ambled along with her neck arched settling into an effortless rhythm.

Godolphin’s Frosted colt Ingratiating did his best to muster some sort of challenge, but was clearly short of the task finishing two and a quarter lengths behind a dominant Enthaar.

“She was very impressive and has always been very obvious,” said Ciaron Maher.

“It’s great to have her back with a nice run like that. It looked like she did it pretty easy heading into what is one of her targets, the Blue Diamond.

“She’s a very exciting horse and she was soft for this, so she will come on in leaps and bounds.”

Enthaar has already banked $180,000 from her first two starts and will go straight into the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) on February 20.

Ciaron Maher believes the additional furlong will not be a concern, while winning rider Mark Zahra is also confident the 1200m will be comfortable for Enthaar following a couple of gear adjustments to help her settle.

Enthaar is the second foal and second winner from winning Not a Single Doubt mare Final Agreement, who was bought by Emirates Park for $400,000 from the Newgate Farm draft at the 2016 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

Final Agreement comes with a lovely pedigree as she is a sister to Group I winner Secret Agenda and grand-daughter of Group I winner Euphoria.

Emirates Park will offer the yearling half-brother to Enthaar by I Am Invincible at Inglis Easter as Lot 305.

Final Agreement had no foal last spring after missing to I Am Invincible and was then covered by Newgate Farm’s first season sire Tassort, in whom Emirates have a large investment.
