Favourite for the fillies division is Godolphin’s Frosted (USA) filly Frost Flowers, who looked good winning on debut at Flemington on New Year’s Day.

Frost Flowers is a half-sister to Hanseatic, who won the colts division of this race last year before going on to finish second in the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes.

Shalaa (IRE) may also make his presence felt in the race as he has Tayla’s Moment, who was second to Frost Flowers on debut, and Saasmit, an impressive debut winner for the Maher Eustace stable, engaged to run.

The colts division features two runners for Extreme Choice in Abseiler and Extreme Warrior, both of them showing good ability in their only previous starts and Capitalist has Marine One, who was third in the Group III VRC Maribyrnong Plate during the spring.

The full brother to Marine One sold for $975,000 at the recent Magic Millions Yearling Sale to James Harron Bloodstock setting a new record price for a yearling by Capitalist, so the performance of Marine One will be of keen interest  to a number of parties.
