Deep Field Debut Winner at Sha Tin

Tara Madgwick - Monday January 25

Deep Field added to his growing reputation in Hong Kong with another promising debut winner at Sha Tin on Sunday in Winner Method.

Trained by Danny Shum, Winner Method won two trials in Australia under the care of Bjorn Baker before transferring to Hong Kong last year.

Recent good efforts in Hong Kong trials saw him sent out favourite for the Class Four sprint over 1000m and he duly ran up to expectation with a dominant length and a half win in 56.55 seconds.

Winner Method as a yearling.

Winner Method was a $150,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Attunga Stud draft for Bjorn Baker Racing/Clarke Bloodstock and is a half-brother to stakes-winner Enchanted Dream and Group II placed Mystic Maid being the fourth winner from good producer Magical Belle.

The current yearling from Magical Belle is a colt by Russian Revolution that will be offered by Western Breeders Alliance at the Perth Magic Millions as Lot 21.

Winner Method is the ninth winner in Hong Kong for Deep Field, whose progeny have proven well suited to what can be a challenging environment.
