Air Force Blue Off The Mark

One season shuttler Air Force Blue (USA) is off the mark in Australia after the Travis Doudle-trained filly Roxy Blue made a one-act affair of her career debut over 1000m at Port Lincoln.

Ridden by Scarlet So, Roxy Blue led at every call to win eased down by four lengths over Brohare (Rebel Raider) with Bold Discent (Dissident) one and a quarter lengths back in third.

The

Brind family homebred is the first foal of the hard-knocking Rock Of Gibraltar (IRE) mare Rock Out who won four and placed in seven of her forty starts in four seasons on the track.

Air Force Blue (Mark Smith)

A $55,000 yearling, Rock Out hails from the family of the Group 1 LevRC Bayer Classic winner Al Akbar who earned immortality as the sire of Vegas Showgirl the dam of Winx.

Rock Out has a colt foal by Toronado (IRE) and was covered by Needs Further last spring.

The winner of the Dewhurst Stakes, National Stakes and Phoenix Stakes, Air Force Blue (USA) (War Front) left 59 live foals from the 119 mares covered ay his lone season at Coolmore Stud in 2017.
