Second on debut at Geelong on Boxing Day, the Tony and Calvin McEvoy trained colt showed the benefit of that outing to cross from a wide gate and lead.

He was strong to the line and held off all challengers to win the 1147m maiden by half a length.

An $80,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Sledmere Stud draft for McEvoy Mitchell Racing / Belmont Bloodstock Agency (FBAA), Pegasi is the second winner from stakes-placed Charge Forward mare Draw Forward.

Pegasi’s yearling half-sister by Hellbent was sold at Magic Millions earlier this week by Manx Park for $160,000 to Peachester Lodge.

Star Turn has had yearlings sell for up to $180,000 at Magic Millions this week and has more to be offered right through until Monday’s final session.
