Sales analysis is geared towards finding the yearlings bred along lines to improve their chances for success and is based on three main components – Stallion Match, Aptitude Profiling & Impact Analysis.

Stallion Match: Stallion Match shows Graded Stakes Winners from around the world that have a similar pedigree to the mating – in this case the yearling.

It makes sense that purchases should look to replicate pedigrees of champion runners and the analysis should look at the entire pedigree. Stallion Match directly compares the whole pedigree to stakes winners and informs just how similar the yearling is to each stakes winner with a Similar Score (CSI – the same half of the pedigree) and Exact Score (E – exactly the same position). A Perfect Match occurs when there are 2 or more Graded Stakes Winners with a common ancestor in every quarter of the pedigree. A 20/20 Match occurs when there 2 or more Graded Stakes with similar score (CSI) greater than 20 to that of the yearling.

Aptitude Profile: A simple yet effective bubble chart showing the stakes winning success of the pedigree for both age and distance.

Impact Analysis: The Impact Analysis measures the strength of a cross between two ancestors by comparing how many stakes winners it should have got to how many stakes winners it actually did get to produce an Impact Score (IS). Higher ISs should be sought by buyers and lower ISs avoided as this relates directly to a proven stakes winning pedigree.
