What Does a Good I Am Invincible Look Like?

Tara Madgwick - Saturday January 9

As we head into the sales season every yearling buyer thinks they know what they are looking for, but do they? This new Breednet innovation seeks to shed light on what the best progeny of a sire looked like as yearlings so we can maybe learn a lesson going forward, this time we look at I Am Invincible.

Yarraman Park’s I Am Invincible has charted a remarkable path to success from being a humble $11,000 stallion to being the most expensive sire in the country that stood in 2020 at a fee of $209,000.

His freakish ability to upgrade the most pedestrian of mares to produce stakes horses put him on the map and now with the benefit of large books of top class mares he is consistently always at or near the top of the Australian General Sire’s List by earnings and winners.

From our data base of images we have put together a selection I Am Invincible stakes-winners pictured as yearlings that offer some real insight into his offspring.

He is a very dominant sire of sprinter milers with none of his 62 stakes-winners successful at a distance beyond 1600m.

His stock mature fast so he has a great record with his juveniles, but they are also very tough and sound so frequently race well into their five and six year-old careers with great success.

In appearance, they are all remarkably similar being bay or brown in colour (the odd rare grey) with very few white markings. They are very well balanced and athletic with great muscle and bone and many having the classic head of their sire.

Below are all the I Am Invincible Magic Millions yearlings with images currently uploaded, which ones are the stakes-winners of the future?
