Smart Yao Dash Wins MM Rising Stars

Tara Madgwick - Saturday January 9

Fourth in the Group I ATC Golden Rose as a three year-old, Yao Dash has always shown well above average ability and confirmed that with a dominant win in the $244,000 Magic Millions Rising Stars Class 4 (1300m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday putting the spotlight on his half-sister to be offered at Magic Millions.

A four year-old gelding by Smart Missile, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Yao Dash was second at his previous start in the Wyong Magic Millions Stakes to Eleven Eleven and franked the form of that horse by bolting clear to win by two lengths.

Yao Dash was a modest $90,000 Magic Millions purchase for Dynamic Syndications from the Newhaven Park draft and has given his owners a great result winning three of nine starts and earning over $345,000 in prizemoney.

Yao Dash was bred by Newhaven Park and is the first winner for imported Rahy mare Rahy Storm (USA), who was a metropolitan winner in Australia and is closely related to US Group II winner Rahy’s Appeal.

Newhaven Park will offer the current yearling from Rahy Storm, a filly by Spirit of Boom as Lot 680 at Magic Millions.

Lot 680 is a half-sister by Spirit of Boom to Yao Dash.

Yao Dash looks a bright prospect for future stakes success for Smart Missile, who stands at Twin Hills Stud and has 14 entries for Magic Millions.
