First Heroic Valour Yearlings Set to Impress

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Monday January 4

Basil Nolan and his team at Raheen Stud are excited to get to Magic Millions this year and why wouldn’t they be, given they will be offering the first yearlings by their exciting young stallion Heroic Valour, the only Group I winning two year-old son of Fastnet Rock at stud in Australia.

Unbeaten at two, Heroic Valour was a speed machine for the powerful Te Akau racing stable, winning the Group I ARC Diamond Stakes in lightning fast time at only his third race start.

Heroic Valour was an outstanding 2YO for Te Akau Racing.

Always racing against the elite in black type races, Heroic Valour produced four wins and a further 12 top four finishes from just 19 starts.

Bred and raised at Coolmore Stud, Heroic Valour was a $400,000 yearling purchase for David Ellis and is a three-quarter brother to $2.2million earner Triple Honour, winner of the Group I ATC Doncaster Handicap. He is among eight winners from outstanding producer Myrrh (NZ), a daughter of influential sire Nassipour (USA).

Champion sire Fastnet Rock has proven a remarkably successful source of sires with eight of his sire sons already producing Group I winners of their own – Hinchinbrook, Smart Missile, Foxwedge, Stryker, Rothesay, Wanted, Atlante and El Roca - Heroic Valour looking well placed to add his name to the list!

“Heroic Valour has well and truly stamped his stock. His yearlings are outstanding individuals and we are proud to offer them at this year’s yearling sales,” said Raheen Stud’s Basil Nolan.

“He was an exciting racehorse and according to Te Akau Racing Stables’ David Ellis he was without doubt their best ever 2yo and we look forward to seeing his progeny on the track.”
