The admirably consistent Dance Music led at every call in Saturday’s Group III La Trice Classic at Ascot, much to the delight of her breeders Neven Botica and Matthew Sandblom who will offer a Deep Field half-brother at the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale in February.

Ridden by Brad Rawiller, the Simon Miller-trained daughter of War Chant (USA) defeated Naughty By Nature (Trade Fair) by a length with the same distance back to Chantrea (Puissance De Lune) in third.

It was the first Group win and fourth stakes win for Dance Music, advancing her record to eleven wins, three seconds and four thirds from 23 starts with earnings of $800,695.

“At the weights she was a good thing. It was just a matter of her getting the 1800m,” Miller said.

Brad and I worked in with each other from the Robbie Griffiths days in Melbourne for six or seven years. He has been doing a bit of work for me but I just haven’t found the right one to put him on.

“I am more happy for him, Neven and Matthew. They have got a mare that in hindsight should have stepped up in trip earlier.

“She has an over fifty percent winning strike rate which is crazy.

“They don’t come along often. She will be in the paddock on Monday. She has taken us on a good journey.”

The Neven Botica and Matthew Sandblom homebred is the first foal of her dam Fast Flowing (Dubawi).

A winner at Ascot, Fast Flowing was a $1000,000 Karaka yearling purchase by the late Bart Cummings. Her dam Deutsche (Quest for Fame) is a Sydney-winning sister to the Listed MRC Debutant Stakes The Rhine.

Fast Flowing has a 2yo filly by Bull Point who was purchased for $75,000 out of the Kingstar Farm draft at the 2020 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

The daughter of Dubawi has a yearling colt by Deep Field heading to the Perth Magic Millions.

She was not covered in 2019 and visited Darley Stud’s Territories (IRE) in 2020.
