Star Turn Filly Books Ticket to Magic Millions

Tara Madgwick - Thursday December 24

Talented filly Miss Hipstar became the first winner for Vinery Stud’s promising young sire Star Turn when she won on debut at Doomben back in November and booked her ticket for the Gold Coast when making it two wins in as many starts at Ipswich on Thursday.

Trained by Kelly Schweida and ridden by Larry Cassidy, Miss Hipstar was dominant in leading all the way and kicking clear for an impressive three and a half length win.

Her last 600m was covered in a slick 32.06 seconds.

Her trainer indicated it was now full steam ahead towards the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, although hinted at the possibility of giving Miss Hipstar one more run a week before the race.

Purchased by her trainer for $150,000 out of the Vinery Stud draft at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Miss Hipstar is a half-sister to the Group II ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes runner-up Still Single out of the Not a Single Doubt’s smart juvenile stakes-winner Single Style.

Single Style has a yearling filly by More Than Ready (USA) that will be offered by Vinery as Lot 800 at the 20201 Magic Millions.
