Vote for Your Favourite Foal of 2020

Tara Madgwick - Saturday December 19

We’d like to thank thoroughbred breeders from throughout Australia and New Zealand for supporting the 2020 Breednet Foal Gallery which again has showcased a huge variety of gorgeous foals from both hobby and commercial breeders.

It’s always hard to pick favourites from so many beautiful images but the following pictures are all special in their own way.

The first in the list struck as a news topical photo for the times given this year the FEI made a unanimous decision to ban the removal of sensory whiskers in equestrian competition horses from July 2021.

The rule states that horses are not permitted to compete in FEI events “if the horse’s sensory hairs have been clipped and/or shaven or in any other way removed unless individual sensory hairs have been removed by a veterinarian to prevent pain or discomfort for the horse.”

The filly below has some serious sensory whiskers!
