New Shamexpress Stakes-Winner Highlights Success

Last Saturday’s win by Coventina Bay in the Group IIIJ Swap Contractors Sprint Handicap at Te Rapa, provided her sire ShamExpress (O’Reilly) with his fifth first-crop stakes winner from just forty seven first-crop runners.

Coventina Bay is a new stakes-winner for Shamexpress.

The Windsor Park Stud domiciled leading First Season Sire sports an exceptional  first-crop  stakes winners to runners ratio of 10.6%.

Bred by EVB Ltd and trained by Robbie Patterson at New Plymouth, Coventina Bay has now won six races from ten starts.

A daughter of the High Chaparral mare Coventina, Coventina Bay is a grand daughter of Windsor Park’s Gr.1 1000 Guineas winner Nimue.

ShamExpress has nine Book 1 and 2 yearlings catalogued in the upcoming NZ Bloodstock Yearling Sales at Karaka.
