Exciting Filly Isotope a New Stakes-Winner for Deep Field

Tara Madgwick - Saturday December 5

Deep Field filly Isotope has always had a boom on her since winning on debut in April this year by 10 lengths, but the Tony Gollan trained three year-old now looks ready to come of age after powering to an explosive win in the Listed BRC Mode Plate (1200m) at Doomben on Saturday.

First up from a spell, Isotope travelled smoothly for Ryan Maloney throughout and accelerated away from her rivals to win by three lengths.

“She was really good today, she stepped away on terms and looked to have the race in her keeping a long way out,” said Tony Gollan.

“That was a good bunch of fillies in that Mode Stakes and she really made light work of it.

“She’s a really good filly and now we can plot a path towards thew Magic Millions.”

A $170,000 Magic Millions purchase for Gollan Rcg/J Foote Bstock/Black Soil Bstock from the draft of Daandine Stud, Isotope has three wins and two seconds from six starts with prizemoney topping $174,000.

Bred by Daandine Stud, she is the first winner for Great Dansaar a half-sister by Choisir to Group I winner Yankee Rose from the family of New Zealand Derby winner Redoute’s Dancer.

Daandine sold the current two year-old from Great Dansaar, a filly by Winning Rupert, at Magic Millions this year for $90,000 to Darby Racing / De Burgh Equine and she has been named Rupertaar.

She has a yearling colt to follow by Sebring that will be offered at Magic Millions as Lot 357, a filly foal by Spirit of Boom and has been covered not surprisingly by Deep Field again this spring.

Deep Field has three winners from three runners from mares by Choisir and now a SW!

Isotope is the seventh stakes-winner for Newgate Farm’s Deep Field, who stands at a fee of $55,000.
