Tiny Success Highlights Stellar Nick

Tara Madgwick - Friday December 4

She might have only won by a small margin, but three year-old Lonhro filly Tiny highlighted a super successful nick when she scored her second win from three starts at Randwick on Friday afternoon.

A homebred for Godolphin trained by James Cummings, Tiny was resuming from a spell and enjoyed a cosy run on the fence from barrier one before giving everything she had to run down race favourite Belieber to win by a head.

Tiny is the first winner for Group III placed Miniature, a half-sister by Exceed and Excel to Group II winner Galah from Group I winner Rinky Dink.

Tiny is one of 22 winners bred by Lonhro from daughters of Exceed and Excel, the overall results of this nick even better than they appear in the Breednet nicks information as a result of some South African runners.

The definitive results of the nick are 22 winners from 26 runners, that’s 84% winners to runners and an impressive five stakes-winners – two of them in South Africa - including Group I winner Bounding.

With 19% stakes-winners to runners, this is an exceptionally good nick!

So the big question is are there any yearlings bred on this nick in upcoming sales and the answer is yes!

Karaka Book 1 will feature Lot 498, a bay colt from Lagertha, an Exceed and Excel half-sister to stakes-winner Zarantz.

Magic Millions will feature Lot 42, a grey Lonhro filly from Ambereen (Fr), an imported half-sister by Exceed and Excel to French Group III winner Alnadeena.
