South African Winner Brings Pedigree Update

Tara Madgwick - Sunday November 29

Progressive Australian bred Camelot (GB) stayer Anse Lanzio won his fourth race in South Africa on Sunday when scoring an easy win at Scottsville adding a pedigree update for his half-brother headed to the 2021 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

The five year-old gelding is trained by Andre Nel and ran out a dominant winner taking out the Track and Ball Gaming Pinnacle Stakes (2400m) by more than three lengths.

Anse Lanzio is the best of three winners from three foals to race from Port Elizabeth (IRE), whose current yearling colt by Churchill (IRE) will be offered as Lot 240 at Inglis Classic by Middlebrook Valley Lodge.

Churchill is the sire of the yearling half-brother to Anse Lanzio.

Port Elizabeth has a quality European staying pedigree being a three-quarter-sister by Danehill Dancer to Group III winner Steel Princess, the dam of Group I winner Sarah Lynx and $1million earner Steel Prince, who won the Group III Geelong Cup and contested this year’s Melbourne Cup.
