74th SW for Not a Single Doubt

Tara Madgwick - Sunday November 29

Setting the pace on the Australian General Sires List by earnings, Not a Single Doubt added a new stakes-winner  to his tally on Saturday and Niedorp has a half-sister headed to the 2021 Magic Millions.

Trainer Tony Gollan’s pre-race instructions to Georgina Cartwright on Niedorp in the $125,000 BRC Spirit of Boom Classic 1200m LR were simple.

“Just put the foot to the floor out of the gates.”

Despite drawing gate 16, that’s exactly what Cartwright and the 4YO daughter of Not A Single Doubt did, crossing the field to take up the lead after 200 metres.

Niedorp settled beautifully in front, unfazed by Epic Girl in close attendance, and when asked to extend at the top of the straight she responded gamely to hold off the fast-finishing Blazing Miss & Jadentom.

Niedorp’s maiden stakes victory is well-deserved after three previous stakes placings and a 70% win-&-place record from 17 starts.

Tony Gollan was full of praise for her. “She’s a beautiful mare, I’ve loved her all the way through, we bought her as a yearling, we’ve had her the whole time.

“Just to see the strength in her this preparation, she’s a different horse…there’s more than this win in her the rest of the summer.”

Bred by Ben Mills, whose Bird Rock Farm retains a share in her, Niedorp was bought for $270,000 by Gollan Racing and John Foote from the Edinglassie Stud draft at the 2018 Magic Millions Sale. She carries the silks of Brian Siemsen’s Black Soil Bloodstock, which evolved out of the success of the famous “Boom brothers,” Temple of Boom and Spirit of Boom.

Niedorp is the first foal of the unraced mare Black Tulip (by Lonhro) whose second dam Sister Dot left the leading sire Dehere. Black Tulip’s 3YO daughter Ventisette (by Dundeel) is in training with Archie Alexander and her yearling filly by Russian Revolution is  Lot 106 in the 2021 Magic Millions Sale.

Not a Single Doubt

Not A Single Doubt now claims 74 stakeswinners, six of them on his current season record including Shout The Bar (VRC Empire Rose S. G1) and Everest winner Classique Legend. He holds a $3 million lead on the General Sires’ Premiership and few would bet against his ability to be there on 31 July 2021 as well.
