One to Watch – Bendigo

Tara Madgwick - Thursday November 26

Breaking his maiden in style at his second start at Bendigo on Thursday was an eye-catching son of Rubick, who brought a timely pedigree update for his half-brother to be offer at Magic Millions 2021 next month.

Resuming from a lengthy spell having finished fifth at Canterbury on debut back in January, the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained colt Zion was a drifter in betting, but powered home to win the 1000m maiden by a length and a half.

Zion was a $360,000 Karaka Book 1 purchase for Suman Hedge Bloodstock from the Waikato Stud draft and is the first winner for Kim Dynasty, a half-sister by Dylan Thomas (IRE) to Group I winner Arlingtonboulevard.

Waikato Stud will offer the current yearling from Kim Dynasty, a colt by Tivaci, as Lot 442 at the Magic Millions.
