Magic Millions Goal for Good Chat

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday November 25

David Vandyke has bid farewell to his stable favourite Alligator Blood, who is set to join the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott team in Sydney, but he might have a replacement by the same sire in All Too Hard waiting in the wings.

Promising three year-old gelding Good Chat was a hot favourite at Ipswich on Wednesday and scored a dominant length win over 1200m taking his overall record to three wins from five starts.

Good Chat is improving with every start and his trainer has high hopes for the horse that was bought at Magic Millions for $140,000 from the Kitchwin Hills draft by BK Racing and Breeding.

“He was wanting to go a bit hard in his races, but he’s learning to relax now,” said David Vandyke.

“He’s a Magic Millions horse, so we’re targeting him towards the Magic Millions 3YO race.”

Vandyke won that race in 2020 with his Group I VRC Australian Guineas winner Alligator Blood, although the race was later taken from him due to a positive swab.

Good Chat is a half-brother to Group III winner Benny’s Buttons and Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Real Surreal being the eighth winner from eight foals to race from terrific producer Stolen Beauty.
