Next year’s Classic catalogue is “a fantastic, well-diversified assortment of yearlings representing a broad cross section of top-class breeders” according to Inglis’ NSW Bloodstock Manager Chris Russell.

All up there are 108 sires represented including I Am Invincible, Snitzel, Written Tycoon, Exceed and Excel, Zoustar, Pierro, So You Think, Fastnet Rock, Dundeel, Savabeel, Deep Field, Lonhro, Brazen Beau, Nicconi, Street Boss, Shalaa, Capitalist, Extreme Choice and many other top-class proven or emerging stallions.

There are 22 First Season Sires represented such as Merchant Navy, Russian Revolution, Hellbent, Almanzor, Pariah, Churchill, Invader, Menari, Impending, Highland Reel, Spieth, Supido and Tosen Stardom to name a few.

Of the catalogue, 697 lots – or 87% of the yearlings – are BOBS Eligible, while there are also yearlings catalogued which are eligible for VOBIS, QTIS, SABOIS and Westspeed.

There are 76 individual vendors featured as part of the catalogue, with some of Australasia’s biggest names complimented by offerings from boutique drafts and breeders who specifically target the Classic Sale with quality yearlings.

The value available at Inglis sales continues to shine through with racetrack results.

Since 2018 Inglis auctions have produced 53 G1 winners, 27 G1 winners that could have been purchased for $100,000 or less – almost double our nearest competitor.

Inglis sales have also produced more G1 winners overall, more Australian G1-winning 2YOs, more Australian Group winners, more G1-winning colts, more G1-winning fillies, more winners of the $1m+ races and more Hong Kong winners than the nearest competitor.

In the past four years alone the Classic Sale has produced the winners of a Melbourne Cup, Golden Slipper, The Everest, Blue Diamond, Randwick Guineas and VRC Derby among many other G1 races.

The Classic Yearling Sale has also produced the two winners so far of the $2m Inglis Millennium.

“The rise of the Classic Sale in the past even five years has been astronomical in that it is now a sale not only where you can find incredible value but these horses are winning the biggest races in Australia and beyond,’’ Russell said.

“It’s without doubt the most underestimated sale in Australasia and you only have to look at the performance of graduates over the last 12 or so months – Classique Legend, Vow And Declare, Pippie, Castelvecchio, It’s Me, Shadow Hero, Hot King Prawn, Sweet Deal, Rubisaki etc. – to recognise that it’s a sale that any investor in bloodstock needs to be taking very seriously indeed.

“There was a significant demand for places in this sale for 2021, but we have worked hard with breeders to put together a catalogue that caters for a wide variety of buyers and we are very pleased with the outcome.

“This year’s catalogue has something for everyone – the best sires in Australasia, a fantastic mix of First Season stallions, yearlings out of well-performed mares or proven producers and we thank our vendors and breeders for providing us with such a strong offering for the 2021 Classic Sale.’’

Hard copies of the Classic catalogue will be available in a fortnight.

To request a catalogue, email catalogue@inglis.com.au or call Inglis on +61 2 9399 7999.

All yearlings offered at an Inglis Yearling Sale are eligible for entry into the lucrative $6m Inglis Race Series which includes the $2m Inglis Millennium for 2YOs as well as a host of other valuable races.
