Godolphin’s Dubawi entire Ghaiyyath has been crowned as the Cartier Horse of the Year.

A potential shuttler in 2021, the Charlie Appleby-trained 5-year-old had a brilliant season with wins at the highest level in the Coronation

Cup, Coral-Eclipse, and Juddmonte International Stakes before being retired to the breeding barn.

"To win with Ghaiyyath has been a fantastic achievement by everyone involved with Godolphin," Appleby said.

"His Highness Sheikh Mohammed has followed this horse very closely from being a yearling through his 2-year-old career, and thankfully it has culminated in what he has achieved this year.

"I now pass the baton over to the breeding operation, and I'm sure they will have a lot of fun and success with him in his career.”

Another Godolphin colour-bearer Battaash was honoured as the Champion Sprinter.

American Pharoah’s Group 1 Criterium International winner Van Gogh was crowned Champion 2yo colt while Group 1 Fillies Mile winner Pretty Gorgeous (Lawman) earned the title for Champion 2yo Filly.

The One Thousand Guineas, Epsom Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks winner Love (Galileo) was honoured as the Champion 3yo Filly while Kingman’s St James’s Palace House Stakes and Prix Jacques le Marois winner Palace Pier earned the colts equivalent.

Stradivarius (Sea The Stars) was Champion Stayer for the third year in succession while his trainer John Gosden was honoured with the Cartier/Daily Telegraph Award of Merit
