Contributer Delivers a Winner for Godolphin

Tara Madgwick - Friday November 20

Godolphin enjoyed plenty of Group I success with dashing High Chaparral entire Contributer (IRE) and when he retired to stand at Mapperley Stud in New Zealand they supported him with a number of mares and one of those is the dam of promising stayer Dhakuri, who opened his account at Rosehill on Friday.

Contributer is the sire of Dhakuri.

A three year-old gelding trained by James Cummings, Dhakuri was fourth and then second at his past two starts and was well backed late to win the 1800m maiden.

He surged home from back in the field for Nash Rawiller to catch race leader Bella Violet and win by a head.

Dhakuri is a half-brother to Group II placed Kumaon and is the sixth winner from six foals to race from Nanda Kot, a winning Encosta de Lago sister to the dam of High Chaparral’s Group III winner Sadler’s Lake.

The family is also notable for producing dual Group I winner Shame and Group III winner Demerit.

Nanda Kot was on-sold last year by Godolphin for $35,000 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale and produced a filly this spring for her new owners by Santos.
