First Season Sire Watch on Saturday

First season sires are set to play a role on Saturday with runners around the country including youngsters contesting the Max Lees Classic at Newcastle and Listed MRC Merson Cooper Stakes at Sandown.

The Newgate Farm duo of Capitalist and Flying Artie have four runners each and look set to build on their already promising start.



The most expensive yearling by Capitalist, Forbes makes his debut at Sandown and is well fancied to win.

Trained by Anthony Freedman, he was a $750,000 Magic Millions purchase and runs in the colours of James Harron Bloodstock.

Forbes made $750,000 as a yearling .
