Written Tycoon's Written Beauty Claims the Red Roses

Mark Smith - Thursday November 5

After breaking Nature Strips 1000m track record at Moonee Valley at her most recent start, the three-year-old Written Tycoon filly Written Beauty continued the run of success for Team Hawkes and Orbis Bloodstock when opening her stakes account in the $200,000 Group III  Network 10 Red Roses Stakes (1100m) at Flemington.

With William Pike in the saddle, Written Beauty came down the grandstand side but was all out to defeat the Dream Ahead (USA) filly Marboosha by a half-neck with the Niccomi filly Celestine back in third.

"You could see Willie was trying to get in behind them. But he could not get her to come back for cover, mind you the second filly was in the same sought of rut facing the breeze," Wayne Hakes said.

"She’s got a lot of upside but has come to the end of her tether. She has a massive upside, and she will be some filly when she matures.

“It is more about mentally than physically because she is a brute of a horse.

“Orbis has had a great spring with the likes of Doubtland.”

A homebred for Orbis Bloodstock, Written Beauty advances her record to four wins and one second from five starts with earnings of $247,900.
She made her first two starts for Bryan and Daniel Guy, finishing second on a heavy track at the Gold Coast in May before breaking her maiden by six lengths on the same track the following month.

When she reappeared 17 weeks later, it was with Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes for whom she made a winning debut at Canterbury on October 5. The daughter of Written Tycoon made then made the racing world sit up and take notice with her record-breaking performance at Moonee Valley.

Written Beauty becomes the fifth stakes-winner for her dam Beauty World after Group III winners Lite In My Veins (Henrythenavigator) and Hi World (High Chaparral) and the Listed winners Loveyamadly (Bel Esprit) and Ducimus (Snitzel) who stands at Rivercrest Park.

Also, the dam of the Group 1 placed American Crew (Stratum) and stakes-placed Where's Wally (Rogano), Beauty World has had several grateful owners over the years.

She was purchased by Belmont Bloodstock on behalf of Oaklands Stud for $50,000  at the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Broodmare Sale, then was sold to Orbis Bloodstock in a private transaction when carrying Written Beauty.

The daughter of Danehill Dancer has a yearling filly by I Am Invincible named Ravisher.

Beauty World’s multiple stakes-winning daughter Loveyamadly is continuing the line for United Syndications as the dam of Group III winner Immortal Love.

Written Beauty becomes the 40th stakes-winner for Written Tycoon and an industry leading ninth stakes-winner of the season.

After yeoman service at Woodside Park Stud, Written Tycoon could not have chosen a more opportune time to make his debut at Arrowfield Stud as he attempts to chase down the lead set by his new stablemate Not A Single Doubt for champion sire honours.
