South African G2 Winner for Choisir

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 31

Talented Choisir five year-old gelding Hudoo Magic scored his first Black Type victory in South Africa on Saturday taking out the Group II Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile (1600m) at Turffontein.

Trained by Brett Crawford, Hudoo Magic won by three-quarters of a length taking his overall record to four wins and six placings from 18 starts.

A $60,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Stonehouse Thoroughbreds draft for Form Bloodstock, Hudoo Magic was bred by Richard Pegum and is one of four winners from Hudoo (GB), a three-quarter sister to international Caulfield Cup winner All The Good.

Hudoo has had no recent luck at stud, losing a foal and missing in her past two seasons.

Hudoo Magic is the 97th stakes-winner worldwide for Coolmore’s evergreen sire Choisir, who stands this spring at a fee of $16,500.
