Juvenile Trial Watch – Warwick Farm

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 27

The most expensive Australian yearling sired by Triple Crown hero American Pharoah (USA) made it two trial wins from two outings when he won easily at Warwick Farm on Tuesday morning on the polytrack.

Looking very professional under Nash Rawiller, the Chris Waller trained Head of State surged to the lead and kicked clear to win by a length and a half albeit always under a hold.

Bred by Brad Crismale, Head of State was bought for $850,000 from the Lime Country Thoroughbreds draft at Magic Millions by Tom Magnier.

Head of State as a yearling

Head of State runs for a big syndicate of varied owners and is a half-brother to Group II winner Man From Uncle from Danehill Dancer (IRE) mare Derelique, who comes from the family of Group I winner Summer Passage, Group II winner Shania Dane and stakes-winners such as Scintillation and  Northwest Passage.

American Pharoah also posted a juvenile trial winner at the Gold Coast on Tuesday with American Ruby scoring for the Bryan and Daniel Guy stable.

A $140,000 Magic Millions purchase for Orbis Bloodstock from the Newhaven Park draft, she is from winning Redoute’s Choice mare Frontalis, who comes from the family of Group I winner and sire Spinning World (USA).
