Frankel's Siblings Bullet Train and Noble Mission Muscle in on the Action

Mark Smith - Sunday October 11

Seven days after Frankel’s Mirage Dancer (IRE) won the Group 1 ATC Metropolitan, Frankel’s three-quarter brother Bullet Train (GB) sired the Caulfield Cup-bound Chapada, winner of the Group II Herbert Power Stakes at Caulfield, which came shortly after Buffalo Dancer (USA), a son of Frankel’s three-time Group 1-winning  brother Noble Mission, finished runner-up in the Group 1 Toorak Hcp.

Both Chapada and Buffalo Dancer (USA) are trained by Mike Moroney.

Chapada becomes the second stakes-winner for the former Bowness Stud resident Bullet Train (Sadler’s Wells) who had a good day around Australia on Saturday with four winners with another city winner Genzai The Wolf saluting over 1050m at Doomben.

Chapada gained a golden ticket for next week’s $5 million Caulfield Cup following a dominant performance Saturday's $300,000 Group II Neds Herbert Power Stakes (2400m).

Ridden by Daniel Stackhouse, Chapada travelled three pairs back on the fence as In Good Health cut out strong fractions in front.

Eased out into the three-wide line on the turn, Chapada powered home to defeat  Zebrowski (Savabeel) by a length and a quarter with Platinum Invador (Redwood) a short-head back in third.

It was a well-deserved maiden stakes win for the 5yo gelding who placed in the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas behind the Autumn Sun, the Group 1 Victoria Derby, the Group II Zipping Classic and the Group II Ladbrokes Classic.

"I think the horse does deserve that, he was very unlucky in Group 1 races before as a three-year-old," Moroney told racing.com.

"We lost his four-year-old year, but he seems to have come back a lot stronger now.

"From the time he arrived in the stable he always had a bit of presence about him, he's a lovely horse.

"He's one of those horses that when you watch him work, he has one of those actions that you can watch all day, a real rocking-horse action and a beautiful temperament."

Purchased by Paul Moroney Bloodstock for $32,5000 out of the Bowness Stud draft at the 2017 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Chapada advances his record to 3 wins, 3 seconds and 5 thirds from 23 starts with earnings $716,690.

He is the best of three winners from four to race out of the Oasis Dream mare Diamantina Dior whose unraced dam Diamantina was imported to Australia by Kia Oro Stud when carrying Diamantina Dior.

Purchased out of the Aga Khan draft for 87,000 guineas by De Burgh/Farrington at the 2005 Tattersalls December Mixed sale, Diamantina ILinamix) is a sister to the Group II Prix Greffulhe winner Diamond Mix and the Group III winner Diasilixa and a three-quarter sister to Group II winner Diamilina and Group III winner Diamonixa.

Chapada a $32,500 Inglis Classic yearling

Bowness stud sold Diamantina Dior to Watershed Farm for $12,000 at the 2017 Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale.

She has a 2yo filly by   Mosayter (USA), a yearling colt by Odyssey Moon and was covered by Maurice (JPN) last spring.

After five seasons at Bowness Stud, Bullet Train (GB) went on a one-way ticket to  Woodfield Farm Stud in County Waterford, Ireland in 2018 as a dual-purpose stallion.
